IPL 2024: These 5 Players May See Big Salary Cut In IPL 2024 Auction, Take a Look

The richest league in the world is the Indian Premier League. not just because of the fanfare and spectacle but also because of the substantial financial benefits offered to players.
International cricket players sign up to take part in these lucrative league auctions in hopes of winning huge payouts.
In addition to offering players enormous financial rewards, the Indian Premier League also gives them recognition and status in the cricket community. This is especially advantageous for uncapped Indian and foreign players.
Many players earn substantial sums of money each year that neither they nor we anticipated. However, it has been seen that players who were sold for extremely high prices fared poorly throughout the competition and went back to their base salaries the next year.
The clearest example is Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who earned 15 crores from the Daredevils in the 2015 Indian Premier League despite having a terrible season.
These players weren't able to produce enough to warrant the large sums of money they won at the IPL 2023 auction. That could mean a significant pay drop in the IPL 2024 auction.
Sam Curran
The highest-bidding player in IPL history was Sam Curran. He cost Punjab Kings an incredible Rs 18 crore. He did not, however, have a great season this year. Curran made appearances in all 14 games and claimed a total of 10 wickets. Aside from that, he was a run-leaking machine in the Indian Premier League, generating runs at an economy rate of 10.22 and an average of 480.5.
With CSK, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sam Curran made his IPL debut in 2018. His previous year's performance will cause his salary to plummet significantly in the IPL 2024 auction.

Nicholas Pooran
West Indian wicketkeeper batsman Nicholas Pooran was acquired by the Lucknow Super Giants for a sum of Rs. 15 crore.
Although Pooran performed mediocrely overall, his high pay was not justified by his work. Despite this, Pooran only managed 358 runs at an average of 28 in 14 games. It's possible that Pooran won't receive as much money in subsequent auctions.

Harry Brooks
During the IPL 2023 auction, this English phenomenon caused quite a stir in the cricket world. Harry Brook was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a sum of Rs 13.5 crore. Even though he scored a century this season, a single match is never enough to overcome inconsistency. In 11 games, Brook scored 190 runs at a 21-run average.

Ben Stokes
Ben Stokes was acquired by the Chennai Super Kings for Rs 16.25 crore, making him the third-most expensive acquisition of the auction. One of the best all-rounders in the game, Stokes is an England game Cup hero. He made a lot of money from his cricket skills, but he was a terrible failure.
He also spent the entire season on the bench due to injury. In his two games, he managed to score fifteen runs without claiming a wicket.

Mayank Agarwal
IPL veteran Mayank Agarwal has competed in the league since 2011. He has participated in games for several teams, such as the Punjab Kings and the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
But at Rs 8.25 crore, Agarwal was yet another expensive acquisition made by SRH. After Punjab released Agarwal in 2022, SRH signed him as a trustworthy batsman. He played ten games and scored 270 runs, but he and his team lost badly.
