Rohit Sharma:Keeping the wider objective in mind, we wanted to give the guys some playing time. Not giving up on the way we intended to play this game. Include a few players who are most likely to compete in the World Cup. Axar played quite well at bat but was unable to complete. He had a lot of personality.
But praise be to the bowlers from Bangladesh. Gill had a terrific hundred. He knows exactly how he wants to play, and he backs his game. It's really obvious what he wants to do for the squad.
Review his performance from the previous year. Quite strong compared to the new ball. Gill puts up a lot of effort; practise is not optional.
