At the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Monday, Team India eventually triumphed over their bitter rivals, Pakistan, in the rain-shortened Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match. In their history of One-Day Internationals, India defeated Pakistan by 228 runs, handing Babar Azam's team their second-largest defeat (by runs).

In the Asia Cup, Rohit Sharma's team amassed a number of records thanks to clutch hundreds from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli as well as a five-wicket performance from Kuldeep Yadav.

India's victory over their bitter rivals Pakistan was also their biggest ever, ranking fourth in the history of the Asia Cup.

With his 47th ODI century on Monday, Kohli made history as the first hitter to achieve four consecutive hundreds at an away game.

Hashim Amla, a former batter for South Africa, is the first player to score four consecutive hundreds at one location; he accomplished this record at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.

This accomplishment was made at a location other than home, the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, by the former captain of India, Kohli. "I'm ready to support the squad in whatever way I can. I was merely supposed to rotate strikes while KL got off to a tremendous start today. Pushing for a double is as easy as it gets, and I take great delight in trying to push for easy runs," Kohli remarked following Monday's thrilling victory against Pakistan.

"KL (Rahul) and I play traditional cricket; we don't do any exotic stuff, but we can score a lot of runs when we hit excellent shots.

There were positive indicators for Indian cricket and a terrific connection. "I am delighted that he is returning to ODI cricket in that way," the former skipper of India continued.

When Team India plays Sri Lanka in their second Super 4 match of the Asia Cup 2023 on Tuesday, Kohli will be back on the pitch. "I was delighted and pushing for those runs, but I was also thinking that I needed to play tomorrow at 3 p.m. Fortunately, we are Test players.

Having participated in over 100 Tests, I am familiar with how to return and play the next day. It was quite humid outside, and since I turn 35 in November, I also need to take care of my recuperation, Kohli remarked.
