#15YearsOfKingKohli Trend Takes Over Internet As Fans Celebrate Virat Kohli's Milestone Moment

This day in 2008 marked the first time that a young and flamboyant Virat Kohli donned the uniform of the Indian national team.
He made his debut in a One-Day International match against Sri Lanka on that day. In the intervening years, Kohli has gone on to solidify his place in the Indian cricketing spectrum as an unequivocal leader.
He isn't too far away from shattering some of the game's most significant records, especially those held by his hero Sachin Tendulkar, who is considered to be his biggest inspiration.
As Kohli reaches a historic milestone, his devoted followers have taken to social media to celebrate the occasion. The hashtag #15YearsOfKingKohli has started trending on X (which was once known as Twitter).
In 2008, when Kohli played his maiden game for the national team, it was against Sri Lanka. He scored just 12 runs off of 22 balls during his debut. During the same match, his opening partner Gautam Gambhir was run out for a duck off of the first two balls.
The Indian team was ultimately only able to score 146 runs during the match, and Sri Lanka went on to win the match by eight wickets.
Even Royal Challengers Bangalore, the team that Virat Kohli plays for in the Indian Premier League, took to Twitter to commemorate the significant occasion.
Here's how fans paid tribute to Kohli on the occasion
15 YEARS OF VIRAT KOHLI
The greatest batsman of his generation and an example to all young people. Every other player aspires to be like him. The international cricketer's face. Best regards for the World Cup.
Virat Kohli was a member of India's title-winning side, led by MS Dhoni, in his maiden ODI World Cup.
While luck has not been on his side when it comes to winning ICC titles as a captain, Kohli will be hoping to win the ODI World Cup for the second time in his career when the mega event begins this year.
