Friendship Gesture: "Stay strong buddy" - Arjun Tendulkar sends special message to Prithvi Shaw after the latter's county stint ends due to injury

Prithvi Shaw's tenure with Northamptonshire began spectacularly, with the young opener smashing two superb hundreds in the current One-Day Cup in England.

Unfortunately, Shaw suffered a knee injury while fielding during the team's August 13 game against Durham. Following scans, it was determined that the young prodigy would be unable to compete in the rest of the tournament.

Despite the injury, Shaw walked out to bat and delivered an undefeated 125-run effort, leading his team to a surprising six-wicket triumph. Shaw's close buddy Arjun Tendulkar sent his best wishes for a speedy recovery in reaction to his tragic setback.

"Stay strong buddy wish you a speedy recovery," Arjun wrote on his Instagram story.

With his stunning 244-run performance against Somerset in the One-Day Cup 2023, Prithvi Shaw has captivated the attention of cricket fans all across the world. Not only has he emerged as the season's leading run-scorer, with 429 runs scored in just four innings.

However, recent rumours have revealed that Shaw has sustained an ACL injury, which is awful. This setback will cause him to sit out for almost two months, eventually leading to his return to India in a few weeks.

Northamptonshire head coach John Sadler complimented Shaw for his significant services to the team. Nonetheless, he voiced his disappointment at the unfortunate setback that has befallen the great cricketer.

"Prithvi has had a significant impact on us as a club in his brief tenure." It's a shame he won't be with us for the rest of the competition.

"He's a very humble young man, very respectful, and he's very grateful for the opportunity to represent Northamptonshire," he said.

According to the official statement issued by Northamptonshire, Shaw will meet with a specialist in London on Friday.

It is worth noting that he would be supervised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
