Bangladesh announce squad for Asia Cup 2023, Tanzid Hasan Tamim called up, take a look

Bangladesh Cricket has announced the team lineup for the Asia Cup 2023 competition, which will be held in Sri Lanka and Pakistan beginning on August 30. Bangladesh men's cricket team captain Shakib Al Hasan has been named.
He will also captain the squad in the ICC Men's One-Day International World Cup 2023, which will be contested in India from October 5 to November 19.
Tamim Iqbal, the previous captain, is injured and will not play in the Asia Cup, which is a significant blow to the Tigers' prospects.
Tamim had previously announced his retirement from the format following the loss in the first ODI against Afghanistan. He reversed his decision the next day after Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked him to resume his duties.
Tamim, on the other hand, missed the remaining games of the series owing to ailments that continue to bother him and keep him off the pitch.
Tamim's World Cup participation is also improbable, which is why the cricket board opted to reassign captaincy to Shakib, who performed admirably in the 2019 World Cup.
Tanzid Hasan Tamim, 22, and Shamim Hossain, who has played T20Is for the Tigers, are two new faces in the Bangladesh squad.
The 17-man roster appears to be strong on paper, with Shakib, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Litton Das constituting the nucleus of the team. This will be the leadership team. They have a good spin-bowling all-rounder in Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Taskin Ahmed is an experienced pacer who will bring his whole arsenal to the table. On their day, Shoriful Islam and Mustafizur Rahman are match-winners.
Bangladesh is the second team to declare their Asia Cup lineup, following Pakistan two days ago. In the tournament, Pakistan will be led by Babar Azam, with Mohammad Rizwan serving as his deputy.
The remaining four countries in the Asia Cup, which include Asian powers India and defending champions Sri Lanka, as well as Afghanistan and Nepal, have yet to declare their squads.
India appear to be postponing the announcement as they await a final report on KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer's match fitness.
Bangladesh play their first match on August 31 at Pallekele. They face Afghanistan at Lahore on September 3.
