Bangladesh Pacer Ebadot Hossain Ruled Out Of Asia Cup Due To Injury

Bangladesh Pacer Ebadot Hossain Ruled Out Of Asia Cup Due To Injury

Ebadot Hossain, Bangladeshi fast bowler has been ruled out of the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. Ebadot, who was a member of Bangladesh's team for the Asia Cup, suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during Bangladesh's one-day international (ODI) series against Afghanistan last month.

The fast bowler will need to rest for at least six weeks. The BCB does not want to worsen his injury because he will be a vital member of Bangladesh's World Cup team.

"After the injury, Ebadot had six weeks of rehabilitation." Several MRIs have been performed throughout this time, and the results indicate that his ACL is still a concern that requires ongoing management. As a result, he will miss the Asia Cup," BCB Chief Sports Physician Dr Debashis Chowdhury stated.

"Given the importance of the ICC World Cup in October for the Bangladesh team, the BCB is committed to exploring every safe medical option available to get Ebadot back to full fitness and playing as soon as possible, including consultation and treatment overseas."

Shakib Al Hasan has been selected captain of Bangladesh for the Asia Cup. Shakib Al Hasan took over for Tamim Iqbal, who is out with a back ailment. Tamim, on the other hand, has begun batting in the nets in order to get ready for the World Cup.

"We wanted him to return as soon as possible, and we calculated previously that he would return [to bat] on 18 or 19 and later, after recovering fully, return to national team [ahead of the home series against New Zealand]," BCB cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus told reporters on Sunday.

"From what we've heard, he's doing well so far." He has now begun hitting, and as his intensity increases, [we will have a better understanding of his physical condition].

"We all want to see Tamim regain his old form, and everyone is supporting him," he added. "Not only the cricket operations team, but our board president [Nazmul Hasan] is also calling and talking to the physio and the head coach, and I don't think there is any gap there."
