IND vs. PAK, Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 Reserve Day: As expected, the India vs. Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match was shifted to Monday's Reserve Day due to the persistent rain in Colombo on Sunday, which limited the amount of time that could be played in the first innings for India after captain Babar Azam of Pakistan sent them in to bat.

As per the Reserve Day regulations of Asia Cup 2023, the match will recommence at the same spot on Monday at 3pm IST.

For the match to qualify as an ODI, at least 20 overs must be played in each of the two innings; else, India and Pakistan would split the match's points equally.

Rain caused the first Asia Cup 2023 match between India and Pakistan to be postponed till September 2 at the Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy.

Furthermore bleak is the Colombo weather forecast for Monday. The MET agency predicts a maximum temperature of thirty degrees and a 97% chance of rain. The match will resume on Monday afternoon at 3pm IST with a cloud cover percentage of 99% and a humidity of approximately 81%.

Monday afternoon is expected to see 17.9 mm of rain. By evening, there is just an 80% chance of rain, but by then, there will be 100% cloud cover.

In Colombo, the play was postponed for over four hours on Sunday due to the persistent rain. The Indians will take up their innings at the same point, 147 for 2, in 24.1 overs, on Monday.

The opening combination of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill gave India a quick start, and as the clouds moved in at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, they were comfortably sitting at 147 for the loss of two wickets.

Prior to this, Rohit and Shubman put on a show, hammering the Pakistani bowlers for 121 runs in a furious partnership.

After the India openers had put the Pakistanis on a leather hunt in the first few overs, Shaheen Shaf Afridi and Shadab Khan each got a wicket to get the team back into the contest.

Gill (58) lost his life in the following over after failing to read a slower ball from Shaheen and giving up a soft dismissal to Agha Salman at extra cover.
