ICC World Cup 2023 ticket sale: BCCI's huge announcement, selected few can make prior booking

India is slowly but surely getting caught up in World Cup excitement. India will host the ODI World Cup by itself for the first time.

In 1987, 1996, and 2011, they shared hosting duties with countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. The tournament starts on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad between the winners of the last tournament, England, and the runners-up, New Zealand.

Before the tournament starts, BCCI made a big announcement about ticket sales for all 58 matches, including 10 warm-up games, which will be held at 12 major venues across the country.

ICC had already said that tickets would be sold in stages, and that sales would start on August 25. BCCI said on Wednesday that some people will be able to book tickets as early as August 24. Only Mastercard users will be able to open the window.

"In order to make sure that fans have a smooth and complete time buying tickets, the sales process for this famous tournament will be presented in a series of carefully managed steps. In the first step, Mastercard, the ICC's commercial partner, will have an exclusive 24-hour window, BCCI said in a press release.

Mastercard holders who want to buy tickets for events outside of India will be able to do so starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday. On August 29, people will be able to buy tickets in advance for the India warm-up match. On September 14, the window for the semi-finals and the final will open.

The schedule for the pre-sale of tickets for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is as follows:

24th August from 6 PM IST onwards: Mastercard Pre-sale - All Non-India event matches excluding warm-up games

29th August from 6 PM IST onwards: Mastercard Pre-sale - All India matches excluding warm-up games

14th September from 6 PM IST onwards: Mastercard Pre-sale – Semi finals and Final

The ticket sales for all other users have been segregated as per the phases below
25th August from 8 PM IST onwards: Non-India Warm-Up matches and all Non-India event matches

30th August from 8 PM IST onwards: India matches at Guwahati and Trivandrum

31st August from 8 PM IST onwards: India matches at Chennai, Delhi and Pune

1st September from 8 PM IST onwards: India matches at Dharamsala, Lucknow and Mumbai

2nd September from 8 PM IST onwards: India matches at Bengaluru and Kolkata

3rd September from 8 PM IST onwards: India match at Ahmedabad

15th September from 8 PM IST onwards: Semi-Finals and Final
