India's ODI World Cup Squad Final. KL Rahul In, Sanju Samson Out: Sources

The Indian team for the ODI World Cup 2023 is anticipated to be named today. According to Crichistory.in, the chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee, Ajit Agarkar, travelled to Sri Lanka to meet with team management and pick the squad.

The BCCI's recently announced Asia Cup 2023 lineup contains no major shocks. With the ODI World Cup squad limited to 15 players, there was no room for wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson, who was replaced by the fit-again KL Rahul.

When Agarkar unveiled the Indian selection for the Asia Cup, he hinted that the lineup for the ODI World Cup will be similar. The Asia Cup squad, on the other hand, included of 17 players, with Samson serving as a backup for Rahul. Because the World Cup squad is limited to 15 players, two members of the original squad had to be cut.

Tilak Varma and Prasidh Krishna have been informed that they will be dropped from the roster. While Varma received his first ODI call-up for the Asia Cup, Krishana was added to the squad after a lengthy injury absence. Among the returning players, Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul have all been named to India's World Cup Squad.

Yuzvendra Chahal, who was also left out of the Indian squad for the Asia Cup, was one of the greatest absentees. Despite his troubles in the 50-over format, Suryakumar Yadav remains in the squad.
