Only 30 days to go for Cricket World Cup 2023 Squad submission, no end to injury crisis

Only 30 days to go for Cricket World Cup 2023 Squad submission, no end to injury crisis

With only 30 days left until the ICC World Cup Squad has to be submitted in, India has a huge problem with injuries. KL Rahul should be ready for the Asia Cup, but Shreyas Iyer is running out of time to get in shape. This has given Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid a lot of trouble, and they only have a month to pick the Indian team.

ICC has set September 5 as the date by which the entry must be made. Even though the deadline to send in the team is August 29, each team will get an extra week during the Support time. Because of this, the limit for sending in the teams is September 5.

ICC on WC Squad submission deadline

“At our events, the limit to send in the first team is 30 days before the support periods start. One week before the events, the support times begin. Before the support period starts, changes can be made without approval, but once the support period starts, the Event Technical Committee has to accept replacements," the ICC told Crichistory.in

The accident problem in India is scary. The only good news is that Jasprit Bumrah is back. The top bowler will get his first taste of international cricket when he leads his team in a three-game T20I series against Ireland. But the BCCI does not know what will happen with the other two important stars.

KL Rahul should be ready for the Asia Cup even though he hurt his knee. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer is in a race against time to be ready for the Asia Cup. The two are currently getting better at the National Cricket Academy. From August 24th to August 29th, they will join the Asia Cup 2023 camp at NCA.

"They will both be in camp. Even if KL or Shreyas aren't 100%, they are still very important to the team. So, they'll both be at camp," a top BCCI source told us.

World Cup 2023: Where do India stand in injury crisis?

Jasprit Bumrah: The fastest horse in the race is ready to go. Bumrah has been chosen to lead the second-string Indian team against Ireland in a three-match T20I series.

KL Rahul: The wicket-keeper batsman has been getting better, but he isn't quite ready to join the India team for the Ireland series. He is still getting better at the NCA, and he should be ready for the Asia Cup.

Shreyas Iyer: Several sources say that Iyer's health is not good right now. The middle-order pitcher is not on the Ireland team, so he has to hurry to get to the Asia Cup. Iyer started hitting at the NCA a few weeks ago. He will also be at the NCA Camp for the Asia Cup 2023.

Rishabh Pant: Even though he has come a long way since his near-fatal car accident in December, the young wicketkeeper hitter is still a long way from being fully fit again. It will take him another 6-7 months to get back in shape.
