South Africa now has four points from two victories, one loss, and third place. With one victory and two defeats, the Netherlands is ranked ninth.

Temba Bavuma, the captain of South Africa, expressed his dissatisfaction after his team lost by 38 runs to the Netherlands in their ICC Cricket World Cup match on Tuesday. He claimed that his team could have managed extra runs more skillfully and that they should not have let the Dutch score more than 200 runs.

The Netherlands won thanks to a solid performance from Logan van Beek, who claimed three vital wickets, their captain Scott Edwards' half-century, and an all-around effort from Roelof van der Merwe. This loss occurred barely two days after Afghanistan defied the odds by triumphing over England. South Africa's bowlers conceded 32 runs in extras during the Dutch innings in their defeat to the Netherlands, which ultimately had a big impact on the result of the game.

"They should not have been permitted to go above 200 after 112 for 6. Even though we lost the ball there, we were still confident in our pursuit. However, they managed to identify several shortcomings in our batting. We had a clinical attitude toward Australia. We had command over the extras. The quality of the fielding was subpar. The benchmark we used to judge Australia was different. We must speak with the boys for a while. You must allow the feeling to permeate. It will sting. We have not, by any means, ended our campaign. They put on a respectable show with that. They applied pressure to us all along. "I wish them luck," Bavuma remarked during a post-match press conference.

Prior to the game, South Africa reduced the Netherlands to 112/6 by putting them to bat first. However, Edwards' strikes and his rapid partnerships with Aryan Dutt (23 in nine balls with three sixes) and Roelef van der Merwe (29 in 19 balls with three fours and a six) helped Netherlands to 245/8 in 43 overs. Rain forced the match to be shortened to 43 overs per side.

In South African bowling, the top strikers were Marco Jansen (2/28), Kagiso Rabada (2/56) and Lungi Ngidi (2/56) on the offensive. Keshav Maharaj and Gerald Coetzee each claimed a wicket.

Proteas lost wickets at regular intervals while chasing 246. SA was bowled out for 207 in 42.5 overs despite brave blows from middle/lower order players including Heinrich Klaasen (28) and Gerald Coetzee (22) as well as David Miller (43 in 52 balls with four boundaries and a six).

For the Netherlands, Logan Van Beek (3/60) was the best bowler. Paul Van Meekeran, Bas De Leede, and Roelef van der Merwe all claimed two wickets apiece. Ackermann, Colin, took one wicket.
