Shubman Gill Health Update: India's Batting Coach Vikram Rathour Issues Big Update On Shubman Gill's Health

Shubman Gill was formally ruled out of the India vs. Afghanistan ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match in New Delhi on Monday morning, as he did not travel to New Delhi with his Indian colleagues.
Shubman Gill Health Update: Shubman Gill, a brilliant opener for Team India, is still recovering and will not be available for today's (October 11) ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match between India and Afghanistan in New Delhi.
Gill reportedly tested positive for dengue a few days ago, and as a result of his low platelet count, he was unable to participate in India's opening match against Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
As a "precaution", Shubman Gill was admitted to the hospital in Chennai. A few hours later, the star player was released from the hospital and transported back to the team hotel in Chennai.
Shubman Gill was officially ruled out of the India vs. Afghanistan ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match in Delhi on Monday by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
It was also confirmed that Gill did not travel to New Delhi with his Indian teammates for the IND vs. AFG World Cup match and will instead stay in Chennai under the care of the BCCI medical team. Shubman's availability for Saturday's World Cup encounter between India and Pakistan is still uncertain.
In a news conference held prior to the India vs. Afghanistan ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match in New Delhi, team India's batting coach Vikram Rathour was questioned over Shubman Gill's status. These are his words...
"He's getting better. Yes, he was admitted to the hospital, but that was only as a precaution. Now that he is back at the hotel, he is healing nicely. We thus hope that he will recover quite quickly while being watched over by the medical staff and receiving any updates that come in. He really does look fantastic."
Only two changes are anticipated from Team India from the playing XI they selected for their 2023 ODI World Cup encounter against Australia. Ishan Kishan is predicted to replace Shubman Gill in today's IND vs. AFG ODI World Cup 2023 match, while Mohammed Shami might take Ravichandran Ashwin's position.
Indian batting coach Vikram Rathour's assessment of the team's seasoned lineup
"At the moment, our hitting lineup is quite seasoned. That message is not necessary, in my opinion. Everyone is aware of how this format requires them to play. Right now, our batting group is quite cohesive. Everybody is different.
We are allowing them to play as freely as they choose. Furthermore, we are aware that each player plays differently. However, each person plays differently, and we believe that if they play and support one another, we will succeed in our goals "Rathour continued.
