These 5 Team India Cricketrs Who Haven't Played Any T20I Match In 2023 So Far

Many experienced players have lost their places in India's T20I squad after the BCCI chose to make significant changes following India's elimination from the T20 World Cup last year.

The Indian team management gives regular opportunities to young players who have performed well in the IPL and on the home circuit. Since last year's T20 World Cup, Hardik Pandya has led India's T20I team on a regular basis.

Notably, the doors are still open for older players who aren't getting any T20I opportunities right now since, in all likelihood, they can make a full-time comeback if they outperform young players in terms of performance.

Let's take a look at five players who have yet to play a T20I match for India in 2023.

Rohit Sharma, Team India's all-format regular skipper, recently declared his desire to play in next year's T20 World Cup 2024, but hasn't played a T20 match for India since the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final.

Ex-India captain Virat Kohli, like Rohit, is yet to play a T20I match in 2023, and his future in the format is dependent on how he performs in the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Veteran India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who played in the previous two T20 World Cups, hasn't played in the format since the 2022 World Cup.

Mohammed Shami, a senior fast-bowler, was a surprise selection in India's T20I World Cup squad last year.

He was brought in as a last-minute replacement for the injured Jasprit Bumrah. In the competition, Shami led India's pace attack. The veteran has yet to play a T20I match for the national team in 2023.

Team India's first-choice wicketkeeper KL Rahul, who is presently recovering at Bengaluru's National Cricket Academy, was dropped from India's T20I team following last year's T20 World Cup and is yet to play a T20I match in 2023.
