IND vs. ENG, ODI World Cup 2023: On Sunday in Lucknow, the Indian team faced England in the ODI World Cup 2023. The team entered the pitch with black armbands on.

The Rohit Sharma-led team was honouring and remembering the late Bishan Singh Bedi, a famous spinner and former captain of India, who passed away last Monday at the age of 77, by donning armbands.

As one of the best spin bowlers India has ever produced, Bedi is highly respected. Between 1967 and 1979, he participated in 67 Test matches for India and amassed 266 wickets.

Before play against England in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 begins, Team India will wear black armbands in honour of the late Bishan Singh Bedi, BCCI announced on X.

In the ten One-Day Internationals he participated in, he also took seven wickets. He was instrumental in India's maiden ODI victory. In a 1975 World Cup match, he bowled a stunning 12-8-6-1, restricting East Africa to 120.

Regarding the game, England, hoping to turn around their dismal tournament start, won the toss and chose to bowl first at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.

With just one victory and two points under their belt, they are ranked tenth in the points table, while India, who have yet to lose in the competition, is ranked second.

For the 100th time in all forms, Indian captain Rohit Sharma is leading the team at bat thanks to his outstanding performance in the tournament.

After chasing down the totals in the previous five games, the Men in Blue are batting first for the first time in the tournament.
