Watch: Rohit Sharma visits Tirupathi Balaji temple ahead of Asia Cup

After winning the Tests and ODIs against the West Indies, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has returned home to prepare for the much-anticipated Asia Cup 2023. The Asian championship begins on August 30th, with Pakistan playing Nepal.

India will kick off their campaign against arch-rivals in Pallekele on September 2.

Rohit is one of the team's veteran players who has been rested from the ongoing T20I series against the West Indies. During this downtime, Rohit has kept himself busy with gym sessions and frequently posts training videos on Instagram.

Meanwhile, a video of the Indian captain visiting the iconic Balaji shrine in Tirupathi with his wife Ritika Sajdeh surfaced on Twitter on Sunday. Rohit was seen waving to the crowds gathering near the temple grounds.

Rohit recently tweeted a video from his gym workout in which he could be seen sweating profusely. The Indian captain performed numerous exercises and took selfies with the kids.

The Asia Cup will act as a warm-up for the ICC World Cup, which begins on October 5. Rohit has competed in two World Cups, the 2015 in Australia and the 2019 in England, but has yet to win one.

Since he will be captaining the squad for the first time in the mega event, he is as eager as his teammates to win the trophy and break India's ICC title drought.

"Honestly, I've never won a (50 overs) World Cup; it's a dream of mine to win a World Cup, and to be here fighting for it makes me happier than anything else." "You don't get World Cups handed to you; you have to work really hard for it, and that is what we have been doing all these years from 2011 to now," Rohit had added.
