Pakistan scripted the most successful chase in World Cup history during an exciting encounter at the ODI World Cup 2023. Pakistan's Mohammed Rizwan and the youthful Abdullah Shafique lead their team to their second victory of the tournament despite facing a formidable 345-run target set by Sri Lanka.

The Pakistani team paused after their historic triumph to thank the hardworking employees of the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium Ground in Hyderabad. The captain of Pakistan, Babar Azam, showed his gratitude to the ground crew by giving them a Pakistan jersey in a touching gesture.

While putting on an amazing show in Hyderabad, a number of Pakistani players, including Muhammad Rizwan, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf, also seized the chance to take group pictures with the ground crew. The team's display of good sportsmanship demonstrated how much they valued the hospitality they were given while in India.

Pakistan has won both of their matches played in Hyderabad, bringing their participation in the ODI World Cup to an end. The Pakistani team had previously played both of its practise matches in Hyderabad.

Babar had earlier expressed to the media that he and his team felt at home in Hyderabad during the ICC's Captain's Day event.

"I felt like the hospitality was excellent. Although we weren't prepared for this, everyone seemed to enjoy it, based on how people were reacting to our team, according to Babar.

"We are not in India; we are just in Hyderabad for a week. We feel at home here. We're having fun, and I believe this is a fantastic chance for everyone to enter the tournament with all of their might," Babar continued.

Babar conveyed the team's wish to have such support at every game and stadium during the tournament, while praising the kindness and hospitality they experienced.

"We really enjoyed the hospitality we received from everyone since we arrived in Hyderabad, including the crowd at the last game, the hotel, and the airport," he remarked.

The next tantalising match between Pakistan and India will take place on October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
