IND vs AFG: Virat Kohli creates all-time record in World Cup by scoring half-century against Afghanistan in Delhi

IND vs AFG: In international cricket, former Indian captain Virat Kohli is still breaking records. The batting mastermind scored another fifty in the second game against Afghanistan, following up his incredible 85-run innings against Australia in a challenging scenario.
With a calm 55 off 56 balls, the Indian star broke yet another World Cup record and helped the team cross the finish line.
With his 55-run innings, Kohli has vaulted to the top of the list of all-time scorers in the ODI and T20 World Cups.
Prior to the Afghanistan match, Kohli had amassed 2256 runs across all World Cup formats and only needed 23 more to overtake his batting mentor, Sachin Tendulkar. When batting at number 19, the 34-year-old celebrated reaching the milestone in style by hitting a boundary off Azmatullah. He currently has 2311 runs in total throughout both World Cup versions.

This is not the only record, the batting icon shattered in India's home World Cup. He was at his best during India's tense chase of 200 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and his 85-run outing took him to great heights.
Kohli went past Sachin in the list of players to score the most runs in the ICC limited-overs tournament. He now has 2840 runs in limited-overs tournaments. He also overtook the Master Blaster in the list of most runs scored in successful run-chases in ODIs in the Australia game.
