Ravindra Jadeja, an top Indian spin allrounder, has now taken more wickets than Irfan Pathan in ODIs for India in the Asia Cup.

In Tuesday's Super Four match against Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Jadeja hit the mark. During the match, he got two wickets and gave up 33 runs. Irfan Pathan took 22 wickets in 12 innings, but the Indian left-arm spinner has taken 24 wickets in 18 games, passing him.

With 19 wickets in nine games, Kuldeep Yadav is also in the running. Overall, Jadeja is the fifth-best bowler in the Asia Cup in terms of how many wickets he has taken. Muthiah Muralidaran is on top of the list because he has taken 30 wickets in 24 games.

India's bowling attack put an end to Sri Lanka's unbeaten streak of 13 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and put them in the final of the Asia Cup 2023 with a game to spare. On Tuesday, the hosts were bowled out for just 172 runs while trying to reach a low goal at the R Premadasa Stadium.

Both teams' spinners controlled the game, but the pacers also helped India beat the co-hosts by 41 runs.

Earlier in the game, Belligerent Dunith Wellalage and Charith Asalanka cut through India's top order, which helped Sri Lanka bowl out Men in Blue for 213.

Wellalage did something amazing when he got his first 5-wicket haul. He took out a strong Indian batting team all by himself, including top batters like Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya.
