Indian Women's Blind Cricket Team To Face Australia In IBSA World Games Finals On Saturday

On Saturday in Birmingham, the Indian women's blind cricket team will face Australia in the finals of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Games 2023.

India has already qualified for the finals, while the Women in Blue crushed England by 153 runs on Thursday to finish the league stage in style. India has 12 points from four games, while England and Australia both have three. However, Australia has beaten England to become the tournament's second finalist based on net run rate.

After deciding to bat first, India unleashed a barrage on England's bowlers, with Simu Das smashing 40 runs in just 18 balls.

India scored 79 runs with no loss on the first powerplay. Gangavva H, who batted at number 6, continued her stellar performance at the Games by slamming 33 runs in 20 balls. The runs kept coming at a rapid pace, as India finished with a total of 217/5 in the allocated 20 overs. This is India's third 200-point performance in the event.

The aim of 218 runs was too much for England hitters, who could only manage 64/4 in 20 overs.

On the strength of their outstanding performance in Birmingham, India became the first team to qualify for the finals of the IBSA World Games 2023 on Wednesday.

Blind cricket made its debut at the IBSA World Games last week, with England and Australia playing the first match. On August 20, the Indian women's cricket team played their first match of the competition, displaying an all-around display of talent.

India won their first match against Australia by eight wickets to kick off their campaign in style. The women's blind cricket team restricted Australia to 59/6 and easily chased down the score.

India went all guns blazing in the second match against England, scoring 268/2 in the allowed 20 overs, with Gangavva H blasting 117 in 60 balls. England was defeated by a score of 185 runs.

India beat Australia by 163 runs in the third round on Wednesday, continuing their dominant exhibition of cricket. After winning all of their league matches, the Indian women's blind cricket team will face Australia in the finals on Saturday, hoping to win the trophy as well.

Meanwhile, India will play semi-finals in the men's game on Friday. If India wins the semi-final match, they will face Pakistan in the IBSA World Games 2023 finals.
