New Zealand to tour Bangladesh for three ODIs in build-up to World Cup

New Zealand will visit Bangladesh for the first time in ten years in September and November for an ODI and Test series.

The three-match One-Day International series will serve as a warm-up for the two teams ahead of the World Cup in India.

The World Cup kicks off in Ahmedabad, India, with last year's runner-up New Zealand facing defending champion England in a rematch of the 2019 final.

Bangladesh's World Cup campaign kicks off on October 7 in Dharamsala against Afghanistan.

The tour will begin on September 21, according to the itinerary released by the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Thursday. The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur will host all three One-Day Internationals.

The Test series will begin in late November, following the completion of the World Cup. The locations for both Tests will be revealed later.

The tour's second leg will be part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle. The red-ball battles will take place following the World Cup.

The Black Caps last toured the country for a full series in 2013. The two-match Test series was tied, while Bangladesh won the three-match ODI series 3-0. The Kiwis won the one-off T20I to round off their tour.
