Pakistan is going to meet Afghanistan in a three-match One-Day International series beginning on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
The matches will take place between August 22 and August 26 at separate venues: Hambantota's Mahinda Rajapaksha International Cricket Stadium and Colombo's R. Premadasa Stadium.
Pakistan is coming off a humbling series defeat to New Zealand in a five-match ODI series, followed by a 2-0 test series victory over Sri Lanka.
Fakhar Zaman was named Player of the Series for his outstanding batting throughout the series against New Zealand, scoring 363 runs in five matches, including two back-to-back hundreds in the opening two games.
Afghanistan, on the other side, won the one-day international series against Bangladesh 2-1, and Fazzalhaq Farooqi of Afghanistan was named Player of the Series after taking eight wickets in three matches. However, they were defeated 2-0 in the T20I series against Bangladesh.
