Paul Stirling to lead Ireland against India for this month's three-match T20I series, Here Is Full Squad

In their 15-person squad announced on Friday, Ireland selected all-rounders Fionn Hand and Gareth Delany to take on India, the No. 1 T20I team, in a three-match series later this month.

India will go to Ireland for the quick series after finishing their tour of the West Indies. A five-match T20I series versus the Windies is now in progress.

The three Twenty20 Internationals between India and Ireland will be held in Malahide on August 18, 20, and 23. Ireland's captain will be Paul Stirling.

"While the majority of the squad reflects the playing group that successfully qualified for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup last week, the selectors have recalled Leinster Lightning all-rounder Fionn Hand and have included Gareth Delany, who is returning from injury after breaking his wrist in Zimbabwe in June," Cricket Ireland said in a statement on its website.

"The upcoming series is the national side's first T20 action since securing the T20 World Cup qualification and is being treated accordingly as part of the strategic planning for that tournament scheduled for June 2024," it continued.

With perhaps 15 T20 Internationals scheduled between now and the World Cup, Ireland national selector Andrew White stated, "It is crucial that we utilise each of them to continue building on areas that the coaching team has highlighted.

Giving individuals opportunities also filters down to the series as a whole, therefore I would anticipate that each of the 15 players nominated to the India series team will play a role at some stage.

Ireland squad: Paul Stirling (captain), Andrew Balbirnie, Mark Adair, Ross Adair, Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany, George Dockrell, Fionn Hand, Josh Little, Barry McCarthy, Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker, Theo van Woerkom, Ben White, Craig Young.
