South Africa Vs Sri Lanka ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Delhi Weather Report: Will Rain Play Spoilsport In Match No 4? Check Here

Cricket World Cup 2023 Delhi Rain: The National Capital's Arun Jaitley Stadium will host the tournament's fourth match. Before the SA vs. SL match, read the weather report.

The Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign has now been shifted to Delhi. The tournament's fourth match will be played at the ancient Feroz Shah Kotla venue of Delhi's new-look Arjun Jaitley stadium. South African and Sri Lankan players will be on the pitch, hoping to get their teams off to a winning start at the World Cup.

These two teams have had diametrically opposed World Cup campaigns in the past. While South Africa has been dubbed the "traditional choker" at the World Cup, Sri Lanka has reached three finals and won the title in 1996. Coincidentally, India also co-hosted the competition in 1996.

Sri Lanka is led by Dasun Shanaka, who took over as a makeshift campaigner when there were no leaders in sight for Sri Lanka Cricket.

He then led Sri Lanka to the Asia Cup (T20Is) in 2022 and continues to captain the national team in all major events and bilateral series. Many in Sri Lanka Cricket apparently wanted him ousted as captain immediately before the World Cup, especially after the humiliating loss to India in the Asia Cup 2023 final.

Shanaka, on the other hand, was retained as captain, and he will have a lot to prove to the naysayers when he leads the team at the World Cup.

The prospects of the Lankans winning the World Cup are quite remote, but the same cannot be said for South Africa, who have arrived in India with an excellent squad.

Led by Temba Bavuma, South Africa have included Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram, Kagiso Rabada in the squads. Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi are capable spinners for them.

Pitch Report:

The Feroz Shah Kotla cricket ground has a reputation for having a spinner-friendly pitch. Historically, the surface has aided spin bowlers, and spinners have had significant success at this venue.

As the contest proceeds, the pitch tends to produce good turn and bounce for spinners, making it a difficult surface for batsmen, particularly in the latter stages of a Test match or a longer-format game.

Delhi weather forecast:

The weather in Delhi will be favourable for a cricket match scheduled for October 7, Saturday. There should be no weather delays in the South Africa vs. Sri Lanka match. Dark clouds are unlikely to form in the skies.

The temperature would be between 25 and 35 degrees Celsius, according to the weather app, with winds ranging from 7 to 15 kilometres per hour.
