Another Injury Blow To India, Star All-rounder Out Of IND Vs AUS 3rd ODI Due To Injury

Although Ravichandran Ashwin has performed admirably in his two appearances, the team management is optimistic over the fitness of Axar, the all-rounder with left-arm spin bowling.

After a one-match break, pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah will be able to play in the third ODI against Australia. However, all-rounder Axar Patel will be given a few more days to heal from a torn quadriceps before the World Cup, BCCI sources said on Monday.

Ravichandran Ashwin has done well in his two games, but the team management is still very optimistic about Axar's health. Axar is an all-rounder who bowls spin balls with his left arm.

"The people in charge of the team want Axar to have the best chance of getting better. His finger and wrist bruises are better now, but he might not be ready for the World Cup for a few more days. There is time since India's first game is on September 8.

As for Ashwin, we now know that he is fit for the match and in the groove. Someone from the BCCI who knew about the situation told PTI, "If Axar can't make it, Ashwin steps in."

The final squad will be announced on September 27, and it is thought that Axar is still the team's first choice for the reserve spinner spot, ahead of the veteran from Tamil Nadu.

The young hitting star Shubhman Gill and the all-round bowler Shardul Thakur are thought to have been given a few days off before the third ODI on Wednesday in Rajkot.

"According to the team's change policy, Bumrah is back along with captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Kuldeep Yadav. Bumrah was given a few days off to rest and get ready. Gill, who has been playing nonstop, and Shardul Thakur will be able to take it easy for three to four days, the person said.

Ruturaj and Mukesh were freed for the Asian Games.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, captain of India's cricket team for the Asian Games, lost his spot in the group and will now join the team going to Hangzhou. He played in the first two One-Day Internationals. The pacer Mukesh Kumar was also let go. He came in to cover for Bumrah, who was given a break.

It's known that Washington Sundar should also leave in the evening or the next day after the game.

The Indian team going to the World Cup won't have any touring net bowlers, but Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, and Mukesh Kumar will be called up when needed.
