Regarding Indian cricket, veteran batsman Virat Kohli overtook legendary player Sachin Tendulkar to hold the record for most runs scored in both the 50-over and Twenty20 International World Cups.
With a score of 55* against Afghanistan on Wednesday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in this city during the present World Cup, Virat displayed his grace and continued to win.
Sachin participated in 45 fifty-over World Cup matches across his illustrious career, amassing 2,278 runs at an average of 56.95, including six hundreds and fifteen fifties. However, he was absent from the T20I World Cup.
However, in 28 fifty-over World Cup matches, Virat has amassed 1,170 runs at an average of 50.86, including two hundreds and eight fifties in 28 innings.
In the fifty-over World Cup, he is also India's second-highest run scorer and the seventh-highest scorer in the tournament's history.

He displayed his batting prowess and reached his peak, not only scoring a century but also making history by becoming the player with the most centuries in World Cup history with seven tonnes.
This incredible feat outperformed the legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who throughout his storied career had amassed six World Cup hundreds.
Prior to the match, Rohit hammered the Indian hitters for boundaries all over the pitch, leaving Afghanistan's all-star spin squadron unable to put the Indians to the test.
India got off to a quick start while chasing a target of 273 thanks to the opening combination of Rohit and Ishan Kishan who put pressure on the bowlers from Afghanistan.
India appeared to have switched to a T20I strategy after playing cautiously in the first few overs. There was no turning back once the Indian captain put a boundary in Fazalhaq Farooqi's over.
At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, India won by eight wickets despite Rashid taking the wickets of both openers, Ishan Kishan and Rohit.
