ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023: At the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Thursday, the ICC Men's ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 witnessed South Africa defeat Australia by a margin of 134 runs.
South Africa won their opening game in the competition, defeating Sri Lanka, therefore this is its second victory. While Australia dropped its first match against India on Sunday, October 8, it has now lost two straight.
Thanks to half-centuries of 56 off 44 from Aiden Markram and a century from Quinton De Kock (109 off 106 balls), South Africa reached 311/7 in the first inning. Mitchell Starc (9-0-53-2) and Glenn Maxwell (10-1-34-2) each claimed two wickets.
Australia responded by losing three wickets at a cost of 50 runs during the powerplay, but Marnus Labuschagne then struck 46 off 74 balls. Australia was all out at 177 after three wickets were taken by Kagiso Rabada (8-1-33-3).
