India Vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 Weather Report: Rain Expected In Kandy On Big Match Day

The biggest game of the Asia Cup 2023 will be played on Saturday, September 2, at the Pallekelle International Stadium in Kandy. It will be between the hosts, Pakistan, and their biggest foes, India. The Asia Cup 2023 is being played in a "hybrid model." Even though Pakistan is hosting the event, Team India is playing all of their games in Sri Lanka.

On Wednesday, the Asia Cup 2023 will start with a match between hosts Pakistan and Nepal in Multan. Fans from both India and Pakistan will be keeping an eye on the weather, though, because rain is expected to stop the second Group A match.

The MET office says that there is a 60% chance that it will rain during the India vs. Pakistan match in Kandy, which will start at 3pm IST. The humidity will probably be around 98%. It will be about 24 degrees Celsius outside.

Before India plays Pakistan, reigning champions Sri Lanka will play Bangladesh at the same place on Thursday, March 31. But there is a 44% chance of rain for that match, even though the temperature will be around 88% and there will be 99% cloud cover in the afternoon.

In fact, India's last ODI against Pakistan was in 2019 at the Old Trafford ground in Manchester during the ICC Cricket World Cup. Rain also messed up that match in Manchester, which India won by 89 runs using the DLS method.

India batted first and got a score of 336 for 5. Opener Rohit Sharma hit 140 and captain Virat Kohli scored 77 off 65 balls. In response, Pakistan could only score 212 for 6 in 40 overs before rain stopped the game. The new goal for the team led by Sarfaraz Ahmed was 302 runs in 40 overs.

India played Pakistan twice in the 2018 Asia Cup. Rohit Sharma was the captain, and India won both games by 8 wickets and 9 wickets. This helped India win the title.
