Breaking: One more Injury! KL Rahul Likely To Be Unavailable For India Squad For Asia Cup

In the midst of all the conjecture about KL Rahul, a report in the main tabloid Indian Express states that he would not be selected because the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is unwilling to bring a player on board for the Asia Cup without appropriate practise.

According to the article, this choice was made because in the past, a player has broken down after being fast-tracked into the squad for a key event.

Shreyas Iyer's inclusion, on the other hand, will be contingent on what the Indian team management has in mind. The squad has been without a number four since he was hurt, despite attempting Suryakumar Yadav at that position in the West Indies.

Rahul has been out of action since being hurt during his team's match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2023 on May 1, gripping his right thigh and staggering off the pitch while pursuing the ball to stop a boundary in the second over.

Despite coming out to bat at number eleven, he did not score a run in three deliveries during that match.

On May 5, it was discovered that Rahul had sustained a major tear in his right thigh tendon and would need surgery. Rahul has since been receiving treatment at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to recover from his injury.

Rahul recently tweeted photographs and videos of himself resuming batting and practising on his social media platforms.

In a medical report on July 21, the BCCI stated that the right-handed hitter has started batting in the nets and is completing strength and fitness drills at the NCA.
