Shaheen Shah Afridi Quashes Rumours of Rift With Babar Azam, Calls Him…

With a post on social media on Tuesday, top Pakistani bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi put an end to reports that he and captain Babar Azam were at odds.

There were rumours that the two Pakistani celebrities had a fight after their team lost in the Super 4 round of the Asia Cup 2023. Pakistani news sources say that Babar and Shaheen got into a heated fight in the locker room after their team lost to Sri Lanka.

BolNews said that the captain of Pakistan said that he was unhappy with how the top players were doing. Babar told them they should do better. It was also said that Shaheen got back at Babar by telling him to at least compliment the players who had bowled and played well.

But on Tuesday, Shaheen put an end to all the rumours on social media by sharing a picture of herself and Babar. He wrote "Family" under the picture.

However, Cricket Pakistan says that a top member of the Pakistan Cricket team denied that Babar and Afridi had a fight over words.

"The team only cares about cricket, and we don't care what the doubters say. When we lose a game, our enemies have a chance to say what they think, but these are just negative rumours," the player was quoted as saying.

The player, whose name wasn't given, also said that there was a team meeting, but that the discussion was helpful and not a fight.

"At the team meeting, everyone said what they thought, but the reports that there was a fight or that the coaches had to step in are not true. Everyone left the meeting together, and a lot of friends took the same flight back to Pakistan," he said.
