Moment of the Day: Virat Kohli Group Hugs Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav During SL Clash - WATCH

A group hug involving star players Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Kuldeep Yadav went viral on social media during the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match, making it an unforgettable event.

The Indian bowlers performed admirably against Sri Lanka, keeping the visitors in the game by collecting wickets on a regular basis while defending a reasonable 214-run mark. After taking four wickets against Pakistan the day before, Kuldeep quickly removed Sadeera Samarawickrama and Charith Asalanka.

After Kuldeep claimed a wicket and simultaneously hugged former captain Kohli, wicketkeeper Rahul, and skipper Rohit, the moment went viral on social media.

Both of Kuldeep's wickets came from wicketkeeper Rahul, who stumped Samarawickrama, who was looking excellent and was eventually removed for 17. Rahul made a spectacular catch behind the wickets in Kuldeep's following over to send Charith Asalanka back to the hut for 22 runs.

Premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah also claimed two early wickets to hurt Sri Lana early in the chase, in addition to Kuldeep. After batting poorly, Bumrah took the wickets of Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis to spearhead India's comeback.

India 2023 Asia Cup Super 4 Live Score vs. Sri Lanka

Earlier on Tuesday, in an Asia Cup Super 4 encounter here, left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage (5/40) took a fifer as Sri Lanka bowled India out for a pitiful 213 runs.

After captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat, the spin combo of Wellalage and Charith Asalanka (4/18) wrecked havoc in the middle overs to bundle out India in 49.1 overs.

With a 53-run innings, Rohit was India's top scorer, but they were hustled out for a below-par total because they were losing wickets frequently and struggling mightily against the Sri Lankan spinners.
