Wasim Jaffer's Reaction Goes Viral As ACC Allocates Reserve Day For India vs Pakistan Showdown In Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s

New Delhi [India], September 8: Wasim Jaffer, the former Indian opener, made a funny dig at the Sri Lanka and Bangladesh cricket teams when the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) established a reserve day for the India-Pakistan Super Four match.

The ACC issued an official statement on Friday announcing the reserve day if bad weather prevents play during the India-Pakistan game. The game will resume on September 11, Monday from the place it was interrupted.

Jaffer took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a clip from the Bollywood film 'Hum Saath Saath Hai' while also musing on the position of all four teams.

Previously, the Asia Cup final had only one reserve day, but the India-Pakistan match has been granted an exception.

After playing Pakistan, India's next scheduled Super Four encounter is against Sri Lanka on September 12.

The match between India and Pakistan in the group stage was called off owing to rain, with both sides earning one point apiece. India were bowled out for 266 in 48.5 overs, with Hardik Pandya's 87 and Ishan Kishan's 82 assisting the side in setting a reasonable total.

However, weather intervened, and the match was called off before Pakistan had even faced a single ball.

The Pakistan Cricket Board, the tournament's official hosts, were on board with plans to move the Colombo matches to Hambantota, but the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) eventually sent a mail to stakeholders stating that the matches would be played in Colombo as originally scheduled, according to ESPNcricinfo.

A rain threat looms over the India-Pakistan encounter on Sunday as well, with up to a 90% likelihood of precipitation. If the weather cooperates, India's bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah may be able to return to action after missing the Nepal match due to the birth of his child.
