WATCH: Virat Kohli himself invites a fan to take a picture with him
Ex Team India captain Virat Kohli is one of the world's most popular athletes. He has a huge fan base in India, where his enthusiastic fans idolise him and often strive hard to get a picture with him when they see him.
A similar situation occurred recently in Mumbai while Virat Kohli was away. A fan approached him from a distance and begged for a picture. The star cricketer personally called the fan and posed for a photo with him.
Virat Kohli is currently taking a vacation from cricket to spend time with his family at home.
He was a member of the India team that played the West Indies in a Test and ODI series last month. Kohli made 197 runs at an average of 98.50 in the two Test matches, including a century and a half-century.
Kohli was primarily a spectator during the three-match ODI series since team management wanted to give young players playing time. The seasoned hitter was not selected for the five-match T20I series that followed the ODIs, thus he returned home after the series.
Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri has challenged Virat Kohli to be adaptable in order to adapt his game and approach to the conditions and demands of the squad. Shastri stated during a conversation on Star Sports:
"No matter how big a player you are, you have to evolve with the game, and Kohli is no exception." You look across the world at guys like Joe Root, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson, or Kohli himself at various times of his career.
Shastri went on to say:
"You have to evolve and keep up with the times because there are new innovations out there." Some players seek to boost the stakes. At the time, a different template is in use. Not just Kohli, but every batsman in that order, must constantly grow."
Virat Kohli will return to action on September 2 when India takes on Pakistan in the first match of the Asia Cup 2023.
