Cricket World Cup 2023: South Africa Captain Temba Bavuma Falls Asleep At Captains' Day Meet, Pic Goes Viral

Cricket World Cup 2023: He took a short nap at the Captain's Meet Event in Ahmedabad while he was captain of South Africa.

From Tommorow, as all 10 countries get ready for the ODI World Cup 2023 in India, South Africa's skipper Temba Bavuma is extremely composed about the major event. During the captains' meet event in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, October 4, the Proteas captain appeared to be unwinding as he was spotted taking a sleep. A quick snooze was observed by Bavuma during the press briefing.

Few can hold the Proteas captain responsible, though, given he recently took a plane from India to South Africa for family matters. Bavuma had to fly to Ahmedabad for the captains' meet event while his squad was getting ready for their first game in New Delhi.

I wouldn't say it is an advantage for us; all we can really do is have guys with that experience and knowledge who can share it with other teams or use it to their advantage in terms of strength and plans.

It is something that is relevant to all the teams because many of them have players who play and have performed well in India. "I don't think it's a special advantage we have as a team," Temba Bavuma remarked at the occasion.

While some South African fans made fun of him online, others came out in favour of Bavuma, saying that people should be aware of how much travelling he has been doing lately. Both both the warm-up games and the practise sessions, Bavuma was unavailable to his squad. It is still unclear officially why Bavuma had to return home after visiting India for personal family matters.
