WATCH: In bizarre 'mind training', Bangladesh cricketer walks on fire ahead of Asia Cup

The Asia Cup 2023 will begin in less than two weeks. Teams are in the final stages of their preparations as the competition approaches. This competition provides a good opportunity for Asian teams to fine-tune their plans ahead of the ODI World Cup in 2023.

While players are hard at work training for the forthcoming continental tournament, an unexpected development has piqued the interest of cricket fans.

Mohammad Naim Sheikh, Bangladesh's great opener, has taken an unusual and compelling path to mental fortitude. A video that has gone viral on social media shows Sheikh courageously walking on fire as part of his mind-training regimen in preparation for the Asia Cup.

The video was posted by Saif Ahmed, whose 'X' bio states 'Social Media Manager of @BanglaTigers_ae & @RangpurRiders'.

The 2018 Asia Cup event will be contested in a novel hybrid format, with Pakistan and Sri Lanka sharing hosting responsibilities. The excitement will begin on August 30th, when Pakistan takes on Nepal in the first encounter in Multan.

The actual highlight of the competition, though, will be the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan on September 2.

Bangladesh will kick off their Asia Cup 2023 campaign against Sri Lanka at Pallekele on August 31. Another exciting match awaits on September 4 as India takes on Nepal in the group round.

The event will have two groups this year, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super Four round.

All teams will battle against each other once during the Super Four stage. The top two teams from this stage will then compete in the final match. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially revealed its 17-man roster for the Asia Cup, led by outstanding all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.
